GM Development In China: Next Step In Car Accidents?

The General Motors Corporation has begun to shift its focus on car production in China as it becomes closer to filing bankruptcy in the United States.  The new plan would steer an existing Chinese company in a new direction, but could greater personal injury be in the future as well?

Our firm’s car accident attorneys see the shift in direction that auto makers are taking.  There has been a growing demand for smaller, more fuel-efficient automobiles.  Unfortunately, these smaller cars can cause greater personal injury in China due to car accidents.

In this new world of auto making, size does matter when you get in a car accident.

Chinese auto maker Liuzhou Wuling Motors Company makes a type of micro minivan that General Motors has a minority share of the company along with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation.  GM Chief Financial Officer Ray Young said last week that Wuling will eventually begin developing its own brand of inexpensive cars.

Without a passenger car, sales have increased in recent years, and the new direction could possibly bring in even more revenue for General Motors and its Chinese partners.  However, the passenger car would be a new venture for Wuling.  That fact leads to speculation that design defects in the newly produced passenger cars made by Wuling can cause car accidents on streets and highways.

Hopefully, General Motors is not moving too fast with the new direction it wants to move Liuzhou Wuling Motors in.  Proper testing must be done to the new cars to ensure their safety on American roadways and their ability to prevent car accidents.

Our car accident attorneys see new car makers create new models for their companies every year.  Car models and parts change annually, but it is important for those companies to make sure all measures are taken to put safe cars on roads that not only prevent car accidents but limit the severity of personal injury in car crashes.

You can also do your part by finding the best car insurance policy for your family and loved ones, because that will protect you on your travels on the road.
