Our firm’s San Diego car accident lawyers have learned that a crash near the border of Mexico yesterday has turned fatal.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, a fatal car accident between Border Patrol and a car killed a San Diego woman. The fatal South County truck accident occurred early this morning on Otay Lakes Road about one mile east of the Lower Otay Reservoir.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) has determined that a woman in a Nissan Maxima was heading east on the two-lane road and lost control when coming around a deadly curve, sending her directly in the route of a pair of marked vehicles driven by two on-duty Border Patrol agents.
The first truck slammed into the civilian vehicle as it skirted sideways. Seconds later, a second Border Patrol truck crashed into the passenger side of the Nissan in a vicious side-impact car accident.
One patrol agent was transported to a hospital for medical treatment for minor personal injuries. The driver of the Nissan, a San Diego woman believed to be 30- to 40-years-old, died at the scene.
While the road was wet at the time of the car accident, it was not raining when the crash occurred. Ruling out bad weather and drunk-driving as the cause of the collision, the CHP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
