Fatal Oceanside Roll-Over Semi Truck Accident

Roll-over accidents are often fatal.  According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than 280,000 roll-over accidents are reported each year, taking more than 10,000 lives annually.

Unfortunately that was the case in recent San Diego car accident news when a man was killed on a freeway transition road after he was involved in a rollover car accident with a semi-truck.  While it is unknown what the immediate cause of the auto accident was, drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be the cause of the fatal semi truck crash.

Gustavo Gracia, 33, was in a Lexus sedan on the I-5 transition to eastbound state Route 78 when the semi-truck rolled on its left side while the driver was negotiating a turn and hit Mr. Garcia’s car.  Gracia suffered traumatic brain injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene

Our semi truck accident lawyers know that auto accidents happen all the time, but the potential for significant injuries and even wrongful death is especially high in semi truck accidents.

Roll-over car accidents are directly related to an automobile’s stability in turns; that stability is influenced by the relationship between the car’s center of gravity and the width between the left and right wheels (track width).   A high center of gravity and narrow track can make an automobile unstable in fast turns or sharp changes of direction – increasing the odds that it will tip over once it begins to skid sideways.  This can often be the case with a semi truck.

Our Oceanside accident lawyers have all too often seen the tragic effects car accidents have on individuals.  Many of these wrongful deaths can be avoided if only drivers obeyed all traffic laws and drove safely.  If you or a loved one have been injured in a roll-over car accident or a semi truck crash, hiring an experienced semit truck accident lawyer may ease the personal injury claims process for you.
