A head on auto accident caused personal injuries in four people over the weekend on Route 76 according to information from San Diego News 10. Of all the different types of car accidents, the head on auto accident can be the most devastating because it’s two cars traveling towards each other, sometimes at high speeds, and crashing directly into one another.
Our car accident lawyers know the end result of this particular accident could have been a lot worse. Thankfully, no wrongful deaths happened as a result, but children’s injuries can lead to serious complications in one of the young people in the wreck.
Four people injured in head on auto accident on Route 76.
Three adults and a 12-year-old boy suffered personal injuries as a result of a head on auto accident which closed State Route 76 for over an hour on Saturday, May 15, 2010, near Stage Coach Road four miles west of Old Highway 395.
A 33-year-old man was driving a Toyota Camry westbound and suddenly swerved into eastbound traffic while on a curve. The Camry slammed into a Chevrolet sport-utility vehicle at about 8:45 a.m. Medical helicopters landed on other lanes on the road which blocked traffic while emergency teams administered on site medical treatment.
A California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer investigating cause of the head on auto accident commented that the Camry swerved across a set of double yellow lines and started driving the wrong way into oncoming traffic. Both drivers were going anywhere from 40 to 50 mph when they crashed into each other.
The driver and passenger of the Camry suffered serious personal injuries as a result of the head on auto accident as well as the driver of the sport-utility vehicle. The passenger in the SUV, a 56-year-old woman, had several injuries that caused moderate damage. All four people were taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for further treatment.
