Teen Dies In Rollover Car Accident In Mission Valley

A car accident caused the death of a teenager after the car he was riding in fell off a freeway ramp and overturned late on Tuesday night.  Late Tuesday night, a 1993 Toyota Corolla overturned at the connector ramp of the Interstate 15-Interstate 8 freeways and then tumbled 100 feet off the Mission Valley on ramp.

Our car accident lawyers know that several factors could have caused this crash.  Connector ramps like those sometimes have sharp turns, and if you’re driving a little too fast or blatantly speeding, you may take the turn wrong and spin out.  Another factor can be visibility.

Since we’re in daylight savings time, the sun goes down a little early, and car accidents caused by nighttime driving become more possible on a sharp turn if you can’t really see what’s in front of you.

The exact cause of the car accident is still under investigation, and the boy’s name hasn’t been published because the family hasn’t been notified.

The boy was riding in the back seat at the time of the car accident, and as the car was falling, he was ejected from the car.  Immediately after he was found by paramedics, he was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 11:15 p.m.  Two other people were seriously injured in the crash.

Our car accident attorneys wonder how this car accident happened.  Did the driver of the car go a little too fast going into the turn to the on-ramp?  Was the boy in the back seat wearing a seat belt?  If he wasn’t, could that have caused his ejection from the car?  We don’t want to speculate how the car accident was caused.  We only want to communicate all of the possibles that lead to this tragedy.
