You can be one of the fastest linebackers in the great game of professional football and twist and turn with the best of them on “Dancing With The Stars,” but if you are guilty of a crime, you will likely get caught.
Such was the lesson learned by NFL star Lawrence Taylor when he left the scene of a car accident and was arrested only a short time later by Dade County, Florida police. He was charged with “leaving scene of an accident/property damage.”

Our firm’s auto accident attorneys know that pro-athletes and celebrities are not above the law. After his arrest for leaving the scene of the car accident, Taylor was escorted to the nearest police station, where he was booked for his crime and eventually released on $500 bond. It is unknown if Taylor’s accident involved anyone one who was driving drunk or under the influence of drugs.
When you leave the scene of a car accident, you are implying that you are at fault for the crash, and running away from your responsibilities as a motorist on the road. It is against the law for a reason!
Our auto accident attorneys want to advise you to never leave the scene of the accident. Stay at the site of a car crash, motorcycle accident, or pedestrian accident, especially if you think that you may be at fault. You are only making matters worse for yourself. Instead, you should make sure you have a good car insurance policy to protect your financial assets.
