Drunk-driving and speeding are two of the top causes of car accidents. The faster the speed of a vehicle, the greater the risk of an automobile accident. The results of speeding are devastating: nearly 30 percent of all fatal car accidents are caused by speeding. In 2005 alone, there were 13,113 wrongful deaths due to speeding. Furthermore, 16,885 people were also killed by drunk-drivers in the United States, representing 39% of all fatal automobile accidents, truck accidents and motorcycle accidents.
Mr. Davis was committing both driving mistakes. Luckily, he was pulled over before he injured anyone in a car accident. Preventing drunk-driving accidents is paramount, so please visit our DUI accident prevention resources to find out how you can do your part.
