The New York Yankees are now officially the winners of the 2009 World Series of Baseball. And whether you are a Yankee fan or not, you got to agree that they must have some amazing people in their organization. Especially when it comes to managers who give a helping hand.
Just hours after his team won the 105th Fall Classic, New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi stopped at the scene of a car accident to help a woman on his way home from the party at Yankees Stadium.

Our firm’s car accident lawyers believe that if more people show kindness and compassion out on the streets, then instances of road rage and reckless driving would be cut down. Girardi took the time to make sure that a fellow motorist was all right after her car slammed into a wall, something not a lot of people, let alone someone who’s team just won the World Series Championship, to do.
Girardi had just finished basking in glory with the rest of his team early Thursday morning when he went through a sobreity check point on the way home. After passing through the check point, Girardi saw the car of 27-year-old Marie Henry, which had gotten into an auto accident on the other side of the road.
According to an interview that Girardi gave on WFAN-AM the next morning, he was ”really concerned” for the passengers inside the car because the property damage on the outside was so bad. The Yankee’s manager approached the crashed vehicle after calling his wife and telling her to phone 9-1-1. Girardi put himself at risk by crossing the east bound lane of traffic on a road that has a notorious blindspot and where drivers sometimes speed along at about 80 MPH.
Once police and emergency vehicles arrived on the scene, they determined that Henry – aside from being a little shaken – was unhurt.
The kicker? Henry had absolutely no idea who Girardi was or what had just happened to him hours prior to the auto accident.
Hopefully behavior like this can be seen more often on the road. When car accidents are prevented in the first place that is when we see less personal injuries and wrongful deaths happening on our streets. You do not have to be a baseball champion to help someone out in the event of a car crash. If you see someone in need of assistance, pull over to the side of the road and 9-1-1, then wait for authorities to arrive.
When we all look out for each other, that is when we all win.
