Medical malpractice is an all too common occurrence in the medical profession, causing people like you a tremendous amount of pain and suffering.
Our firm’s San Diego personal injury attorneys believe that if a court of law rules that any health care professional is negligent in their treatment of your injury they should be held responsible for your lost wages, high medical bills and any emotional trauma you may endure.
In recent local news two San Diego hospitals and nine other California hospitals have been fined $25,000 each for medical malpractice violations that caused injury or even wrongful death to patients. The fines were issued by the California Department of Public Health for the hospitals lack in care such as leaving surgical tools and sponges inside patients. Furthermore the fines were given for lack of communication between hospital employees and inadequate nurse training.
The hospitals that were fined are in Alameda, Humboldt, Los Angeles, Mendocino, San Bernardino and San Diego counties. Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center and Tri-City Hospital are among the hospitals that were fined in San Diego – the first time penalties were issued against both hospitals.
All eleven hospitals must submit a plan of correction to the state, which outlines how they plan to solve the medical malpractice problems they currently have and how their medical mistakes can be avoided in the future.
