One of the most unfortunate outcomes of a fire is the loss of human life.
Unfortunately this was not the case in an Aug. 6, 2006 fire that destroyed the Big Horn Trout Shop, part of an adjacent lodge and the Yellowtail Market in Montana which killed three people. The family of a Wisconsin woman who died in the fire have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the business where she was staying.

Killed were 58-year-old Linda Kopp, 60-year-old Ed Gohlke and 56-year-old Susan Koeppe — all from the Milwaukee suburb of Glendale. The three were in their room at the lodge when they were killed.
The wrongful death lawsuit seeks damages and a jury trial in order to rule whether or not the business was negligent in providing adequate fire safety.
