Washington D.C. Metro is preparing for a number of wrongful death lawsuits from the train accident that caused the nine wrongful deaths of nine passengers in late June.

The first wrongful death lawsuit was filed in federal court two days after the train crash. Five others have since been filed, with one wrongful death claim seeking a settlement as high as $25 million in damages.
