A truck accident in the San Diego neighborhood of Pacific Beach revealed a little more than a suspicion of drunk driving.

Car accidents caused by drunk driving cause some of the worst injuries.  The person under the influence usually has no idea of his surroundings, and that causes thousands of accidents every year leading to serious injury and wrongful death accidents.

Our firm’s San Diego car accident attorneys want to emphasize that drunk driving is a very serious offense that can result in serious injury or have the potential to become fatal car accidents.  We can only hope that the elderly man involved in the car accident has learned from mistake and will not endanger the lives of other innocent civilians or home owners.

Authorities say a 63-year-old man suspected of DUI crashed into his neighbor’s house on Morrell Street at around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday.  But that is just the half of it.

The automobile accident left a large hole in the side of the building and revealed a small marijuana farm inside the home.  San Diego police got a warrant to search the building after the car crash and seized more than 20 marijuana plants from the home.

Officials said that no one was inside the house at the time of the car accident, and neighbors informed police that the residents of the home were away on a ski trip.

Our car accident lawyers in San Diego stress that not every car accident caused by drunk driving causes injury to just the driver or a little property damage.  Too many times, innocent people indirectly involved in the car accident suffer injuries and wrongful death.

To dissuade you or anyone else from deciding to drive drunk, we have a handy DUI prevention resource page that gives information about the hazards of drunk driving, alternatives to drunk driving, and resources if you or someone you know may have a drinking problem.
