A 30-year-old man driving a full-size Chevy truck crashed into a home in Chula Vista, California after a police chase, police said.

On March 23, the driver of the Chevy, a suspected drunken driver already on probation for DUI, briefly led police on a chase at about 2:15 a.m. when officers stopped him for a traffic violation on Quintard Street near Second Avenue.  The driver did pull over, but as the officers approached, he sped off.

The experienced Chula Vista personal injury attorneys at our firm believe driving while intoxicated can be one of the most hazardous things a person can do behind the wheel of a car.  Thankfully, no innocent parties were personally injured from this drunk-driving incident, but often times human lives are lost.

The driver drove to Tobias Avenue near Oxford Street where he lost control of the truck and crashed his vehicle into the house.  The driver was pinned inside the truck after the auto accident, and firefighters had to use hydraulic tools to get him out, police said.  He suffered moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

The truck accident caused major property damage to the home’s garage as well as other cars nearby.  But again, if our attorneys had to pick between property getting hurt and humans, they would take this scenario.

Our firm’s San Diego car accident attorneys know from our history on the job that nothing about DUI can go right, and in many cases, bad things happen.  With so many ways to prevent DUIs from happening on our streets and in our communities, it is mind boggling to think that some people do not know.
