A 15-year-old student was hit and killed in a wrongful death pedestrian accident in Riverside, California when the teenager did not look both ways while crossing.

An intersection may seem safe to cross one second, and then an automobile comes from seemingly out of no where and causes a pedestrian accident that leads to personal injury or, in this case, wrongful death.

Our pedestrian accident attorneys give the same message to some of our clients that their and our parents told us: “Look both ways before crossing.”  This pedestrian accident involved a train, even though most of the time we hear about them in conjunction with car accidents.

The barriers and bells appeared to have been working properly when the pedestrian accident occurred.  At around 7:35 a.m. on April 22, the teenager let a train going west pass and began to cross a train going east hit him and instantly caused his wrongful death.

“The message is to obey the light and bell standards that are at these intersections and be prudent when crossing,” a Riverside Police Sergeant said.

Pedestrian accidents cause pain and suffering every year if the injured persons survive.  The importance for people to be mindful continues to rise because anything can happen.  You can be standing on a curb when all of a sudden, an automobile can jump the curb causing personal injury or wrongful death.

Our pedestrian accident lawyers feel that it is our duty to remind you to be mindful of your surroundings at all times, because you never know when a freak occurrence will happen and you will find yourself in the hospital for medical treatment.
