When the Social Security Act was passed in 1965, a program that was created was Medicare.  This healthcare program provided medical insurance for people over the age of 65 to make sure those people are insured in the event of illness or personal injury.

The government has been working to reform the original healthcare plan, but there have been obstacles.  New information that Medicare and Social Security funds will deplete sooner than expected has many worried these programs will not be available if they suffer from personal injury.

At our San Diego law firm, the personal injury attorneys believe that all people should have the right to have health insurance to help pay for medical bills if they suffer from illness or personal injury.  News this service may not be available should worry those people that already depend on Medicare as well as those that may depend on it later on.

How is anyone supposed to pay the medical bills from a severe illnessor car accident  in order to treat conditions that serious without some kind of insurance?

The Medicare fund for hospital care will be depleted in 2017 which is two years earlier than the government predicted last year.  The Social Security trust fund would not be empty until 2037, but that is four years earlier than last year’s report suggested.

Our firm’s San Diego personal injury lawyers are concerned by the news that programs designed to insure Americans may eventually run out.  Hopefully, a new type of healthcare can be created to make sure all people who experience the pain and suffering from a personal injury are properly insured to help pay the costs for medical treatments.
