CBS reported that an ex-Toyota attorney accused the auto maker Toyota of illegally withholding evidence related to rollover car accidents that caused injuries and wrongful deaths.
The former Toyota lawyer, Dimitrios Biller, sued Toyota in July 2009. His claim hinted that Toyota destroyed engineering and evidence related in more than 300 lawsuits in sport-utility vehicle rollover accidents.
New allegations claim that Toyota destroyed evidence related to 300 rollover car accidents that caused injuries and wrongful deaths.
Our car accident lawyers view this as an unforgivable atrocity if the allegations are true. The drivers and passengers in these 300 rollover car accidents may have suffered serious brain injuries and even wrongful death. Any evidence that supports there is a problem in Toyota manufacturing should be brought to courts.
A rollover car accident can be have large impacts on occupants if the car’s roof fails. The human head is very fragile and cannot withstand high amounts of pressure and weight put on top of it.
If evidence of product negligence is present, it could mean a lot to the people affected. A lawyer in Dallas, Texas said he will file to reopen 15 personal injury lawsuits on September 8, 2009 involving rollover accidents related to new information from Biller.
Biller’s filing says Toyota withheld information in civil cases as well as not disclose crash test results which were part of proposed federal rules for roof safety. Biller also claims Toyota didn’t disclose unfavorable results, rather he redid tests and reported only results that supported Toyota.
Auto makers are a part of the capitalist culture of America. Sometimes, these auto makers do things that are not in the best interests of consumers but rather their own profits. Our car accident attorneys believe these companies have a bigger responsibility than making their pockets fatter. Car safety tests are VITAL to preventing injuries and wrongful deaths in drivers or passengers. They need to be conducted impartially, and ALL INFORMATION NEEDS TO BE DISCLOSED TO THE PUBLIC.
Not just the good parts.
