Comedian and radio personality Artie Lange has been charged with drunk driving and reckless driving after a minor car accident in central New Jersey.
Toms River police say Lange’s 2009 Nissan struck the rear of another vehicle around 1:30 p.m. Friday. Police say no one was personally injured and both vehicles had only minor property damage.
As DUI car accident attorneys, we believe that drivers that drink and drive cause way too many car accidents and drive withour regard for anyone else’s safety. We have seen the pain and suffering that relatives and friends go through upon the wrongful death or serious personal injury of a loved one after a car accident.
Driving under the influence causes the reflexes and instincts of drivers to diminish. The reduction of those skills can lead to car accidents that cause whiplash, spinal cord injuries leading to paralysis as well as traumatic brain injuries.
Lange was issued citations and released pending a court appearance on July 16. Lange is a “Howard Stern Show” regular and recently wrote a best-selling book, “Too Fat to Fish.”
No matter how successful a person may think they are, those same people are not above the same laws that apply to a person who is not as famous or successful. Personal injury and wrongful death from a DUI car crash is the same regardless of who you are.
As DUI car accident lawyers, we believe someone who gets behind the wheel of a car under the influence may have a problem. Drunk-Driving (DUI) car accidents cause thousands of deaths on the road each year.
We feel it is part of our job to help prevent drunk driving accidents from happening in our neighborhoods and cities in the future.
