“It Was Written” is a critically acclaimed album by hip-hop artist, Nas.  Unfortunately for the rap star, he now will be saying that an arrest was written on his record for making a bad choice with alcohol and a car.

In September, 2009, Nas – also known as Nasir Jones — was arrested in by Georgia police for driving under the influence of alcohol.  The police report indicates that Nas also had a bag of marijuana in his possess, meaning that he was most likely driving under the influence of illegal drugs as well.

Our drunk-driving accident lawyers feel that role models such as Nas need to clean up their behavior because his actions could have caused an accident or given an innocent person a personal injury.  In the worst instances, reckless drivers who get behind the wheel while intoxicated can cause a wrongful death on the road.

Nas failed nearly every sobriety test he was given by the Georgia officials.  His DUI arrest might influence the court’s decision about whether or not he will retain custody of his children once he and his wife – pop singer Kellis – finalize their divorce agreement.  Hopefully, for this rapper’s sake, it won’t be determined that reckless driving is not a good thing for kids to be around — due to the fact that it could lead to children’s injuries down the line.

Our drunk-driving accident lawyers hope that you can learn a lesson from Nas.  Never use drugs and alcohol before you get behind the wheel a car!  There are so many ways to prevent DUIs from happening, so why let it happen?
