Personal Injury Attorneys & Car Accident Lawyers San Diego's Most Trusted Personal Injury Law Firm since 1992

With traffic accidents, anything is possible, and when you are a car accident lawyer at our Chula Vista law firm you see every kind of crash in the book.

Here’s a new one: a drunk driver crashed into the Chula Vista Municipal Golf Course yesterday morning.

According to the San Diego Union Tribune, Beth Anne Olvera, 62, was driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol when she mistaken drove onto the Golf Course, toppled several palm trees and crashed into a fence in a wave of property damage.

It was then, in the early morning hours, that Olvera made an improper turn with her Nissan SUV from Otay Lakes Road and into a duck pond on the golf course.  She and her male passenger abandoned the vehicle in the brackish waters until a tow truck pulled it out an hour later.

Both Olvera and the passenger in the drunk driving accident were found at a nearby McDonald’s.  Police officers arrested Olvera for DUI after she failed a field sobriety test.  Olvera was also cited for leaving the scene of an accident.  Thankfully, no one sustained any personal injuries from the car crash.

Our Chula Vista firm’s car accident lawyers have seen a lot of different accidents in our time, but every time alcohol is put into the equation, things end up bad.  Fortunately, this story does not end with the loss of life or anyone in the hospital, but it very well could have.

Make sure that you don’t ever get behind the wheel of a car when you are intoxicated, but also make sure you don’t get into a car with someone who had been drinking and is not able to drive.  Then, take away the keys from the driver.

It’s a move that could save both of your lives.
