Jose Barajas, 30, drove drunk and ran over his two-year-old son, Antonio, in a car accident while attempting to back his car out of the driveway during a Super Bowl party on February 1, 2009.  The toddler was in critical condition and flown to Children’s Hospital Central California in Madera.

Barajas was not arrested after the accident, amidst all the commotion to get his son medical help, but he could still be charged with driving under the influence (DUI), officials said.  Regardless, he has learned first-hand the effects of a drunk-driving accident, even if it was just to make room in his driveway.  It is a shame, too, since there are so many ways to combat and prevent DUI accidents from occurring.
