Another deadly car accident in Australia leaves a family to pick up the pieces, only this time, reportedly due to police indifference, a woman’s daughter found out firsthand the devastation left behind.  The daughter of a 55-year old woman has been given the grimmest of apologies from police after she was allowed to enter an auto accident site and see her mother dead at the scene on Sunday morning of January 4, 2009.

The unnamed woman, worried after her mother failed to meet her in church, heard details of an auto accident and rushed to the scene.

Our wrongful death attorneys feel that the police department should have known better than to allow this woman to see the graphic aftermath and that she might experience mental suffering for quite some time.  People who experience this have a tendency to also experience loss of enjoyment the more they think about these memories.

“Mum goes to church in Beerwah, and I was coming up to spend some time with her,” she said.  “She sent me a text at 9:30 a.m., and she said she was running late.”

The mother had collided with a car driven by a woman with a teen passenger.

According to police, the daughter arrived at the auto accident scene, saw her mother, and was then advised to leave the area around the auto accident.  As she walked back to her car some thousand feet away, the young woman broke down in tears in the middle of the road.  Her family later arrived to comfort her.

Unfortunately, this woman will forever remember the sight of her mother’s remains.  Our firm’s wrongful death attorneys know that it is tragic enough for a family to have to go through the loss of a loved one and hope that the police department will help pay her medical bills if she need counseling from the whole ordeal.

A daughter losing a mother in an auto accident is hard enough.  Hopefully in the future, the last memory of her will not be finding her in the wreckage of a deadly car accident.
