A Vista, California man was involved in a wrongful death accident on March 25 while standing outside of his car on an accelerator ramp to Interstate 15 north of Poway Road.

Raymundo Ambrosio-Vasquez, 53, died at about 5:20 a.m. shortly after the fatal pedstrian accident when he was hit by the driver of an Acura car who was entering the ramp as he was leaning inside of his Toyota automobile.

The driver of the Acura was not arrested, and further investigation of the car accident is ongoing.  Sergeant Tres Polet of the California Highway Patrol said there is no information as to what Ambrosio-Vasquez was doing at the time of the fatal car crash.

“As far as we know, he was by himself in the car, so there are no witnesses to tell us why he stopped,” she said.
