Our firm’s DUI accident lawyers know that it does not matter if you are an internationally renouned figure skater or you are an average joe: drunk driving is not a smart thing to do. Drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs are more likely to get in car accidents and any time an accident is in the equation, there is the possiblity for personal injury to occur.
Lutai was in Lake Placid, New York when he was booked on aggravated driving while intoxicated with alcohol after placing 10th in a skating competition. He’s frankly very lucky that his actions did not result in a car crash.
The worst cases are when reckless drivers get behind the wheel with alcohol in their system. If he was supposed drunk enough to steal a car, what else was he capable of doing in that state of mind? That kind of behavior can lead to fatal auto accidents and wrongful deaths on the road.
Our drunk-driving accident attorneys urge you not to ever drink and drive. Call a cab, call a friend, or call a family member if you are out drinking and know that you are in no position to be in the drivers’ seat. It is not worth putting your life and the lives of others at risk.
