Statistically speaking, you are more likely to die in a fatal car accident on the way to the airport than you are to die in plane crash.

Some people take taxis to get to the airport, but they can be expensive depending on where the ride starts.  Riding a taxi can lead to a potential car accident if the taxi driver rushes the travel or makes a mistake on the road causing a car crash.  A new public train service to some airports could prevent some of those car accidents.
Our car accident lawyers know that car crashes are an inevitable part of driving.  Automobile accidents can happen anytime and anywhere and can lead to serious personal injury, such as whiplash or traumatic brain injuries for example.

New trains providing service to La Guardia, Kennedy and Newark Liberty Airports can reduce the number of car accidents caused by taxis going to airports.

Car drivers seem to be getting the hint, lowering their chances over all of experiencing any one of the top causes of accidents.

Passenger traffic at La Guardia, Kennedy International and Newark Liberty International airports operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey declined just over 9 percent in the first five months of 2009, but use of the Kennedy and Newark AirTrains operated by the Port Authority rose 1.4 percent.

The AirTrain JFK picks travelers up at two different stations, Howard Beach and Jamaica, costs $5 one way.  Travelers flying out of Newark can take a New Jersey Transit train from Pennsylvania Station in Manhattan to Newark Liberty International Airport.  The entire trip costs $15.  (A taxi from Midtown Manhattanto Kennedy Airport costs $45, plus tolls and tip, and a cab from Midtown to Newark can be as expensive as $90).

Trains like these are another part of public transportation which is an alternative to driving.  More traffic leads to the possibility of more car accidents that cause severe injury or wrongful death.

As car accident lawyers, we urge people — when they do drive to airport — to drive carefully and obey the proper traffic laws, along with making sure that your car insurance policy is up-to-date.
