A pileup near the Clairemont intersection put many motorists in harm’s way in the middle of December including two individuals who were ultimately trapped in the crumpled cars. As reported by Fox5 San Diego, the accident happened around 1:30pm in the 5000 block on Genesee Avenue on December 16 when a driver failed to stop for a line of vehicles at a stoplight on Appleton Street.
The resulting collisions involved more than seven automobiles, including sedans, trucks, and SUVs. It took professional emergency crews nearly a half hour to free a woman and a man trapped in their separate vehicles. If you encounter an accident like this in San Diego, contacting the authorities is one of the most important things you can do.
If an individual has become trapped in their vehicle you need to impress the importance of the situation to the paramedics. It can be very dangerous to attempt to remove an individual from a vehicle on your own without any professional accident or medical training.
However, you may need to step in and attempt this to the best extent possible. If others are focused on providing immediate medical attention after an accident like this you can do your part by notifying oncoming traffic that the accident has happened so as to avoid future crashes.
