A recent San Diego accident involves a young teen who drove his car off the road after a long day participating in a dance competition. According to NBC San Diego, the teen fell asleep at the wheel. Thankfully, he walked away from the accident without severe injuries, but this is not the case for most individuals who find themselves involved in any drowsy driving event or a construction site accident. The teen shared that he fell asleep behind the wheel for just a minute, but that was enough time for the car to go off the road. He awoke mid-accident and realized he did not have enough time to do anything about the situation. The car was destroyed but the teen was able to walk away from the scene of the accident. Many accident victims, though, do not get so lucky.
Taking your eyes off the road, whether it’s to fall asleep or to look at your phone for just a minute, could lead to devastating injuries or even deaths. If this applies to you, you may be eligible to pursue a personal injury claim if your injuries are tied to someone else’s negligence. Don’t hesitate to get medical attention for any and all injuries. Getting medical help right away is the best way to protect yourself in the event of a claim.
