The news of a crash near San Diego reveals just how grisly accidents can be.

Unfortunately, as the back to school traffic is picked up, so do the accidents and fatalities associated with accidents in or around school areas. Since many children are on foot or on bike getting to and from school, it is important to pay extra attention in these areas as well as stop behind any school buses to minimize the chances of being involved in an accident. Unfortunately, two elderly drivers were recently killed in a crash near a high school in San Carlos.

The two cars collided at a major intersection near Patrick Henry High School shortly before 7 o’ clock in the morning. First responders had to cut the roof off of one of the vehicles in order to get the driver out. The elderly women involved in the accident were taken to area hospital but were pronounced dead at that time.

It is believed that one driver ran a red light and caused the accident to occur. If you have recently been involved in an accident in or near school grounds and you believe that another driver’s negligence or recklessness was responsible, you need to consult with a personal injury attorney as soon as possible to discuss your rights as well as next steps. You may be able to recover compensation via a personal injury claim.
