A 17-year-old teenage driver was arrested on December 11, 2009 after a one-car car accident in Escondido, California caused the wrongful death of the passenger.  Investigators for the California Highway Patrol believe that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the car accident in the Harmony Grove area of Escondido.

This fatal car accident was reported at about 6 a.m.  It occurred on Harmony Grove Road near the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve east of Escondido.

Our car accident lawyers in San Diego know what kinds of hazards are already present for sober drivers — drunk driving only increases those hazards.  Factor in a teen driver’s inexperience behind the wheel, and teenage drunk driving can easily cause a car accident, personal injury or wrongful death.

The teenage driver of the car had minor injuries and the crash and was taken to the hospital.  The passenger of the car wasn’t as fortunate, and one teenager’s mistake cost one of their peers their life.

Our Escondido car accident attorneys want to discourage drivers of all ages about the dangers of drunk driving.  It is a terrible decision that should never be made.  In an effort to prevent car accidents like these, our car accident lawyers have a helpful DUI prevention resource page with information on preventing drunk-driving accidents as well as links to organizations like Students Against Drunk Driving or Alcoholics Anonymous.

One wrong decision can ruin yours or someone else’s life, so please don’t drink and drive.
