A respected community member and mother was struck by a car while crossing the street in Alpine last week. Andrea Smith was hit by a Honda Civic while crossing South Grade Road and the driver of the vehicle who struck the pedestrian claimed to have not seen the woman as she walked towards her own parked car.
According to California Highway Patrol officers, the driver of the vehicle who struck that pedestrian alleged that the change in elevation in the roadway made it impossible for him to see her. The driver was unable to stop in time. She died at the scene of the accident although the driver of the vehicle was not hurt.
If you have recently been injured in a hit and run accident, it’s important to get legal advice sooner rather than later. This allows you to gather as much evidence as possible and to have the best possible chance for identifying the other driver.
