The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Kolcraft play yards due to a fall hazard.

The play yards include a side rail that can fail to close properly.  The latches on the side rails can open unexpected, causing a child to slip and fall and suffer a children’s injury.

Kolcraft is recalling one million playpens after causing children’s injuries.

Our firm’s San Diego personal injury attorneys believe that if any product causes harm to your child the manufacturer of the product should be held responsible.  If the manufacturer had properly inspected the children’s play yards for design defects, many children’s injuries could have been avoided.

Children can suffer from injuries much easier than adults because of their smaller bodies.  A parent’s worst nightmare is their child getting hurt.  An even worse nightmare is a parent with a hurt child without knowledge on how to get treatment for your child.  Our personal injury attorneys have a handy resource page that help you get your child the medical treatment they need.

About one million of the play yards made in China, Spain and Italy were imported by Kolcraft Enterprises of Chicago and sold nationwide between January 2000 and January 2009.  The play yards were priced between $50 and $160.

The recall involves Kolcraft Travelin’ Tot play yards manufactured for Carter’s, Sesame Street, Jeep, Contures, Care Bare and Eric Carle.

Our personal injury attorneys in San Diego believe that when companies fail to uphold safety in the products they make, hiring an experienced products liability attorney will help clients get a settlement to help pay for medical bill costs as well as pain and suffering.

No parent should have to deal with a child’s injury.  If you bought a Kolcraft playpen for your child, then please take note of this product liability recall for the safety of your child.
