A woman was struck by a vehicle in the City Heights community of San Diego last week in an incident that investigators believe may have been intentional. Hit and run accidents, unfortunately, contribute to many different injuries and accidents but this victim paid the price with her life. The deadly accident happened just before 10 o’ clock in an alley near Wilson Avenue. While a hit and run accident on its own can be devastating, it can be even more frustrating to realize that a hit and run victim was hit on purpose.

In this case, the vehicle driver struck the victim, a female in her late 20s, and the victim became trapped underneath the vehicle. According to witnesses at the scene of the crime, several suspects left the car and ran from the crash scene. Initially, the incident was thought to be an accident but an examination of the scene and conversations with witnesses revealed that the hit and run event seemed to have been intentional. This is when homicide detectives in San Diego were called in to evaluate the situation and detectives determined that the car was indeed used as a weapon to kill the victim. The incident is still under investigation and one witness reportedly told police that he heard a confrontation just prior to the accident happening.

If you have been injured in a hit and run accident, it can be extremely frustrating to figure out what to do next particularly if you do not know the identity of the other driver. Repotting the accident to the authorities immediately and getting medical attention should be your first priority. A hit and run victim may have severe injuries that need to be evaluated by an experienced physician as soon as possible after an accident occurs.
