Parents everywhere take notice: your child may not be safe in a car accident in a RECARO child safety seat.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is alerting consumers of the recall of the “Signo” model child safety seat by RECARO.

According to the car accident safety recall, the central front adjuster strap on some seats may slip within the metal adjuster that controls how tight the harness straps are.  As a result, the straps cannot be tightened enough to properly secure a child in the seat and ensure 100% safety if a car accident happens.

Our personal injury attorneys know that products liability in defective products like this one should be taken off the market as swiftly as possible so, like this case here, horrible children’s injuries can be avoided.

The affected models include seats manufactured from February through September 2008. There have been no reported injuries, and RECARO will replace any defective seat free of charge. In addition, parents and guardians are urged to sign up with NHTSA to automatically receive updates about child seat recalls via email.

Child safety seats are as important to children as seat belts are to adults.  Our firm’s attorneys work with those injured in car accidents and wish to communicate the necessity for all drivers to take proper precautions to make sure that before the engine is turned on, the driver and passengers are secured and safe regardless of their age or the length of the trip.

Also, it is the law in California to make sure that you have the best car insurance policy available, so make sure that you are covered when out on the road.
