Home is always where the heart is, but one Linda Vista homeowner is dealing with the property damage that’s at their home after a drunk driver allegedly crashed into the home according to details from San Diego 6 News.
Drunk driving is one of the top causes of car accidents for a reason. When you drink and drive, you have particular lacks in focus and coordination causing car accidents that can cause personal injuries to anyone involved in a crash.
Authorities say that on Thursday, June 24, 2010, a man backed up his sport-utility vehicle into a parked car. That car accident caused the previously parked car to roll into Colusa Street and crash into a house on the 1200 block just before 10:00 p.m.
Police say the man who backed up his SUV was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, and he was later arrested for DUI charges.
No one was home at the time, so no injuries or wrongful deaths were a result of the freak DUI car accident, but there’s no telling what could have happened if a family had been at the home.
Too many times, people who drink make the irresponsible decision to drive with the effects of alcohol raging through their system. Our car accident attorneys in San Diego want to remind you that if you drink, don’t drive. Make arrangements before you go out. If you’re already out, and you’ve been drinking a lot, call a taxi or call a friend to take you home. Don’t have to call a friend because you need to be bailed out of jail on DUI charges.
