As soon as you receive your driver’s license in California, it’s easy to feel like you’re constantly in the car and enjoying your new independence and freedom. With so much time spent behind the wheels of cars, there are many different items that you may consider keeping inside your vehicle to help you in the event of an emergency or an accident. Thankfully, many of these items are easily obtained and could prove extremely helpful in the event that you find yourself unable to reach another person for assistance and in need of help as soon as possible. These include:

  1. A first aid kit
  2. Flares
  3. Spare tire and jumper cables
  4. Phone charger
  5. Owner’s manual
  6. Food and water
  7. Contact information

Although it might not initially seem like you would need all of these materials in your car, it is always better to have them just in case. In the event that you’re involved in a serious accident or otherwise become stranded, one or more of these items may become extremely important. Is your car’s emergency kit up to par? Make sure you check the emergency kit every so often to ensure that all of the materials are still inside. If you have recently used flares, for example, you would need to replace these.
